Fabricio J. Zuniga, MD, DABFM, Believes in Providing Health Care to All
Dr. Fabricio Zuniga works primarily with critically ill patients who are under-insured
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX, November 16, 2011 /Nutrition PR News/ -- Dr. Fabricio J. Zuniga, Hospitalist for the Corpus Christi Hospital Group, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in family medicine.
Dedicated to improving the health of his community, Dr. Zuniga has spent the last seven years educating the general public about cardiovascular health, diabetes and obesity. He is proud of his association with CCH, a pioneer of the hospitalist movement in South Texas with an established reputation for integrated inpatient management solutions. An acute care specialist, Dr. Zuniga works primarily with critically ill patients who are under-insured. He considers raising the quality of life for all people to be the most vital aspect of his work as a doctor; raised in Central America in an area without organized health care, he has always strived to provide services to the patients who need them the most. He attributes his success in this endeavor to the support that he receives from his family, especially his father.
Dr. Zuniga received an MD in 2001 from The University of Medical Sciences and is certified in family medicine. In addition to reaching out to the community through his duties at CCH, he sits as chairman of Bay Area Hospital's department of family medicine and its pharmacy and therapeutic committee. He is affiliated with the Neuces County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, Society of Hospital Medicine, American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians and American Heart Association.
Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who as a VIP member in 2010, Dr. Zuniga is the recipient of many honors. These include Chief Resident Awards from 2005 to 2006, The Victor C. Calma, MD Award for Outstanding First Year Intern, and the Dr. Henry Harren Award for Excellence in Family Practice. As he moves forward in his career, Dr. Zuniga hopes to continue his growth at CCH, where he intends to create more training programs.
