With nearly four decades of experience as a dietitian, Carolyn L. Stanhope now lends her expertise in critical care to Select Medical Corporation. She now thrives in her second year at the hospital, responsible for assisting doctors in the long-term acute care unit, reporting patient assessments, caring for patients with severe wounds and amputations, those on dialysis, and suffering from respiratory problems, and weaning patients from ventilators. Ms. Stanhope is distinguished by the excellent patient care she provides and credits her success to her passion for her job.
Inspired by her aunt, a dietitian, to enter the field of nutrition and wellness, Ms. Stanhope attended the University of Bridgeport where she earned a master of science in nutrition in 1991. She went on to become a registered dietitian with the American Dietetic Association, and joined such organizations as the American Diabetes Association and National Kidney Foundation. She holds a bachelor of education concentrated in home economics from Concord University and will seek to continue in her current capacity as she moves forward in her career.
