Allan B. Plumser, MD is the former chief of gastroenterology for Saint Peter's University Hospital
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ, March 26, 2010 /Nutrition PR News/ --Allan B. Plumser, MD of the Digestive Health and Nutrition Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in healthcare.
Dr. Allan B. Plumser is a specialist in gastroenterology and internal medicine, having accumulated more than 30 years of practice expertise in the healthcare industry. In his current position as the managing partner of the Digestive Health and Nutrition Center in East Brunswick, New Jersey, Dr. Plumser is primarily responsible for consulting with patients and performing endoscopic treatment of bile passageways and pancreas, gallbladder, stomach intestines and colon. Dr. Plumser specializes in advanced endoscopic procedures, including ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound, as well as providing routine care for chronic liver disease patients, inflammatory bowel disease, screening colonoscopy, and in-office treatment of hemorrhoids. He also provides nutritional therapy and alternative treatment options for digestive health concerns. He is the former director of endoscopy for Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and the former chief of gastroenterology for Saint Peter's University Hospital.
A graduate of New York Medical College, Dr. Plumser earned his medical degree in 1978. He completed his fellowship in internal medicine at SUNY Stony Brook and his residency and internship at the SUNY Stony Brook Health Sciences Center program. Dr. Plumber also holds a bachelor's degree in biology from SUNY Binghamton, earned in 1973. He has completed advanced coursework in gastroenterology. He is the President of the Board of Directors of the Endosurgical Center of Central New Jersey, is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, and is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Gastroenterological Association and the American College of Physician Executives. Looking to the future, Dr. Plumser intends to expand his gastroenterology practice and become more actively involved in nutrition management and consultation.
